BC Struggles with Undefeated Clemson

Final: Clemson 34 – Boston College 17

BC started off the game strong with an interception by Justin Simmons to bring BC into the red zone. Not long after that, Jeff Smith connected with FB Bobby Wolford for a touchdown to put the Eagles up 7-0. After a strong defensive stand, BC looked poised to get the ball back after forcing a 4th down. An unfortunate roughing the kicker penalty, however, continued Clemson’s drive. Before long, Clemson was on the board, and it was all downhill from there. That play really seemed to be the momentum changing play.

With QB Jeff Smith handling the full quarterback duties, after being selected as the starter for BC going forward, BC fell to Clemson by 17. Clemson QB DeShaun Watson threw for over 400 yards and led the Tigers to a victory as they improve to 6-0 and remain unbeaten. BC falls to 3-4 as a third consecutive bowl game seems less and less likely. BC looks to get back to .500 and get their first conference win as they visit Louisville next weekend.
