Eagles looking for 1st ACC win at ‘Cuse
By: Andrew Kelley
Conference play has not been easy thus far for the Eagles. A road game at Cameron Indoor and a home bid against Notre Dame has landed the Eagles with a disappointing -45 point deficit through two games of ACC play. Syracuse has had a similarly rough start to conference play, losing its first four ACC games.

AK’s Keys to the Game
- Control the Glass- BC comes into this game as one of the worst rebounding teams in all of college basketball. This has been an unfortunate trend for the Eagles the past few years. ‘Cuse forward Tyler Roberson is great at crashing the offensive boards. BC will need to limit this if they want to steal one in the Carrier Dome.
- Supporting Cast Needs to Step Up- Eli Carter has been great for the Eagles this year. He is the senior leader who can be trusted to hit a shot when the offense stalls, but teams are starting to figure this out. Carter ranks 9th in the NCAA in Usage rate. This means that the Eagles heavily rely on Carter. The Eagles also rely on Jerome Robinson, who has been great for the Eagles this year. The supporting cast needs to step up and make plays when the defense focuses its attention on Carter and Robinson. Look for Turner, Milon and Meznieks to have solid games offensively if the Eagles pull this one out.
- Avoid foul trouble- This has been an issue for the Eagles this year, especially with the bigs. Clifford and Diallo need to stay out of foul trouble, as to allow coach Jim Christian to get his ideal lineups in. Both bigs staying out of foul trouble will allow them to stay aggressive, especially on the boards.
Syracuse 71 BC 61
I haven’t seen enough from the Eagles in ACC play that would lead me to believe they can beat Syracuse on the road. I do think the Eagles will stay competitive in this game, as Syracuse has struggled recently.
BC 63 ‘Cuse 61
BC pulls out a close game in enemy territory as this young teams gains a ton of experience. A Jim Christian fist bump as the team walks off the court would be a nice addition as well. Let’s hope my heart prediction comes true and BC gets its first conference win. Go Eagles!
