High School Stats:

Levy was a four-year starter in high school.  He totaled 1,809 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns his senior season.  These contributed to his career numbers of over 5,000 yards from scrimmage and 76 touchdowns.  He was rated the second best running back in Maryland by Scout.com and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Maryland.  He has foregone the second semester of his senior season and is here on campus as an early enrollee.

Addazio’s Take:

“A mid-year enrollee, running back, fantastic player, great work ethic, great attitude here right now working.”

Levy on Commitment:

“Excited to be an Eagle athletically and academically […] I would like to thank Coach Addazio, Coach White, Coach Gunnell and the staff of Boston College for believing in me!!”

Our Take:

The book on Travis Levy says that he has great instincts and elusiveness.  He has good patience and does a great job of letting holes open up for him.  The biggest challenge in front of him will be getting bigger and stronger so he will be more built for between the tackles work.  If he can gain some strength and learn to keep his pad level a bit lower, Levy could be a force at BC.  Especially given the fact that he’s here a semester early, getting himself ready and giving himself even more time on a college workout program, Levy shouldn’t be that far off from being a factor on the Eagles offense.   Two and three years ago, the Eagles benefitted from having a huge arsenal at the running back position.  Last year, we saw a shift, as Tyler Rouse and Myles Willis were sparingly used to rush the ball, and as the season went on it seemed to rest more solely on Jon Hilliman and Davon Jones.  The additions of Levy and AJ Dillon make it so that the Eagles could have four legitimate threats as rushers in the backfield once again.  This is certainly a prospect that should excite the BC faithful.
