High School Stats:
After receiving honors in football (and wrestling) at Thompson High School in Alabama, Rayam transferred and reclassified at Peddie in NJ. He continued to be recognized for his play, earning All-Prep A honors at Peddie last year.
Addazio’s Take:
“He’s a 300-pound guy, and he’s an athlete. He’s a wrestler, and he can move and he’s powerful. He uses his hands well and it helps us interiorly inside, which is one of the things we were really looking for as we were filling out this class.”
Rayam on Commitment:
“Truly blessed and honored to commit to the prestigious Boston College! Thanks to all who recruited me! #DecideToFly”
Our Take:
Rayam has football in his blood—his father Thomas played at Alabama and spent time in the NFL and CFL. Additionally, his Alabama Class 7A heavyweight wrestling state title shows that he’s more than just a big guy. His athleticism should help him out at the next level. Along with fellow DT commit Nate Emer, Rayam seems to be a nice additional to BC’s defensive line, especially given the graduation of team captain Truman Gutapfel.
