Game 2 (2-0): Eagles Soar to 76-0 win over Howard

The Eagles had a pick six, two rushing touchdowns, and a punt return inside the five. Many teams would be content with doing all of this in a full game. It took BC less than 4:30 on the scoreboard to accomplish these tasks. BC started out strong, stayed strong and finished strong as they cruised to a 76-0 win over Howard. With 3:40 left in the 1st quarter, the Eagles led 41-0 and at the end of the 1st half, they were up 62-0. Boston College proved to be too much for Howard. Boston College got a lot of confidence with this win heading into Friday’s game against Florida State. The Eagles had 10 different players run the ball and combine for 347 yards and eight touchdowns. Freshman QB Jeff Smith showed he can be a dual threat QB as he ran the ball for 89 yards and three touchdowns. He also completed both of his attempted passes. The BC defense allowed a total of 11 yards to Howard en route to a shutout. The Eagles looked good in every aspect of the game. BC will look to build on their recent success as they take on Florida State Friday night on ESPN.
